We have started preschool. Yeah, we know most kids are getting OUT of school, but we are ready! We have been working on science- zoology! And we've begun our reading book. (
Mom note: We are using The Ordinary Parent's Guide To Teaching Reading by Jessie Wise.) We love our lessons, but they are short. We begged Mom for more. She wouldn't do more than one lesson a day, but she was happy to give us more work on our daily lesson. What extra work? Well, we make alphabet pillows. Mom says I will have a collection of 26 by the time we are done. That seems like an awful lot, but Mom knows her letters. We love making these pillows with Mom. She lets us "shop" her fabric scraps for pieces of fabric to make our letters. Then she shows us how she pins and cuts out the pattern. Then we take turns sitting with Mom while she sews them. While she sews, we practice our letter rhymes and repeat the alphabet for her. We also talk about all the words we can think of that begin with the letter we are making. It is lots of fun! Aidan loves his pillows so much, he takes them everywhere! We'll be reading before you know it! - Imogene
