My brother is fun!

I like my brother. I like to watch him while he is in his swing! I am not supposed to touch him while he is swinging. I don't usually touch him while he is swinging, but sometimes I just cannot resist! Aidan is so funny. He does the funniest things! I like to hold his hand, but he doesn't seem to like holding my hand! I like his little feet, too! I don't like it when he wants to eat and I want Mommy to read to me. I think he could wait to eat while Mommy reads me a book (or two or three). Daddy was having fun playing football with us! Daddy likes football. He watches it all the time. Me and Aidan sometimes watch with him. Mommy explained football to me the other day. She said the boys on the field all run around until the boy with the ball falls down. Then they get up and do it again. It seems kind of silly, but I do like clappng and yelling! I am going to see if Mommy will read me a book (or two or three). - Imogene

I got a bath.

A few days ago, I got my first bath at home. Daddy gave me a sponge bath. I have had baths before. The nurse in the NICU gave me sponge baths. I did not like having a sponge bath! Imogene was watching me. Mommy was taking pictures. Daddy was doing a good job, but it was not fun. After my bath I did get good cuddles from Mommy, Daddy, and Imogene. I really wish baths were not necessary! I need to eat now! - Aidan

I like my brother!

This is a video of me in the car with Aidan. I had just got to meet him. I was a little louder before Mommy started taping me. You have to behave when they have the camera. I love him very much! I was very excited to have a friend in the back seat with me. I really like him. I like to give him hugs and kisses. He doesn't do very much though. He just sleeps and eats. I tried to help Mommy change his diaper this morning. She told Daddy she needed to change Aidan's diaper, so I brought her some diapers to use. Speaking of diapers, I need to go get mine changed. - Imogene

I'm home!

I am finally home! I like it here a lot more than the NICU. My big sister was very excited to meet me. She squealed and clapped all the way home from the hospital. I just slept. She likes to give me higs and kisses. We are all very happy to be home! - Aidan

What have I been up to?

I know you may be wondering what I have been up to while Aidan has been in the hospital. I have been staying with Mommy and Daddy at the old seminary. I have plenty of room to run around and play. And I get to sleep on a pallet in the floor at night! I can get up any time I want! I get to take baths in the kitchen sink. I think those kind of baths are fun! I played in Mimaw and Papaw's yard yesterday while Daddy was doing some laundry. I like being outside! I liked their grass. It was kind of hard to walk in and it tastes bad, but it was very soft! Mommy and Daddy took me to the park to play! I did not like the slides very much. My favorite thing at the park is the rocking duck! It was a lot of fun. I ate cheese pizza yesterday! I liked it. I have had a lot of fun, but I think I am ready to go home. The doctor said Aidan may get to go home tomorrow. That would be good, because I have a lot of toys that need to be checked on at home. I am going to go take a nap now before we go to visit Aidan again. - Imogene

I'm getting better everyday!

I am getting better. My nurses moved me into a bassinet yesterday. I have been a very hungry boy! I have been eating a lot for my nurses and Mommy and Daddy. I get to wear clothes now. Mommy and Daddy are praying for me. Maybe I will get to go home soon. I like being in my bassinet. I get to see everything going on in the NICU now. My doctor is coming to see me soon. I have some napping to catch up on. - Aidan

I'm trying to get better

I am trying to get better. I had a good day yesterday. Mommy even breastfed me. I liked that. Today I got tired again and needed a little help. I want to go home, but I can't just yet. Daddy filled me in on what I missed in football. I wish I could have watched the game with him. They put the tubes back in my nose again. I try to pull them out, but my nurses won't let me. My nurses have been very nice to me. I do not like it when they feed me through the tube in my nose. I like drinking Mommy's milk out of the bottle, but that is hard work for me. I will be better soon, though. And when I get all better I can go home with Mommy and Daddy and Imogene. I haven't met Imogene yet. Mommy and Daddy have been telling me about her though. I think I will like her, she sounds fun. I need to go get back in my isolett before the nurses see me. Be praying for me. - Aidan

I have a new brother

I have a new baby brother. I played with Mimaw while he was being born. I saw him in the window in the nursery with Daddy. Daddy looked so silly in his scrubs! He even had a funny hat on his head. I haven't gotten to see my brother up close yet. Mommy showed me pictures of him, though. He is very cute. I can't wait to show him all my toys! I got to go shopping with my Granny. Every girl needs a Granny to go shopping with. I have been having a lot of fun. I get tired of being with Mommy in the hospital sometimes. But I have been making friends all over the hospital! People in the cafeteria know me by name! I like playing with all the nurses. They think I am a fun girl! I hope Aidan can come home soon. I am ready to be at home so I can play with my toys and run around the house. Mommy finally let me sit in her lap yesterday! I miss her holding me. Maybe she will feel better soon. I have been staying with Daddy at night at Mimaw and Papaw's house. I like it and all, but I think I would rather sleep in my pretty blue bedroom. I need to go now. I am a busy girl. Hello everybody!

Hello everybody. I was so warm and cozy in Mommy's belly, but the doctor's made me come out. It is not as fun out of Mommy's belly. I have had to stay in NICU for the past few days. I get to see Mommy and Daddy. They come and visit me. The nurses take good care of me. I do get mad when they try to change my diaper or move me around. They say I have a little temper. I got to meet Granny, Mimaw, and Papaw. Mommy keeps telling me about my sister, but I haven't got to meet her yet. I am working hard trying to get better so we can go home. I'm going to sleep some more now. - Aidan

Turn around, Sammy!

We went to the hospital on Friday to try to get Sammy to turn around. I had a lot of fun playing with Mimaw, Papaw, Granny, and Poppa. I got to see babies in the nursery. One little girl told me she had a new brother. I thought that was neat. I was a very good girl. I did get a little tired of being there after Mommy had to stay all night. Sammy didn't turn around like they told him to. I am still praying that Sammy will be good and turn around like he is supposed to. I am going to go nap now! - Imogene

We are getting ready!

We have been getting ready for Sammy (that is what we call the baby for now) to get here! I have been helping Mommy and Daddy. I saw the baby yesterday at the doctor's office. The doctor was doing something on Mommy's belly, and I got very upset. I didn't like her messing with Sammy like that. She gave me the tape measure to try to distract me, but I knew she was trying to mess with my baby brother or sister. I have had to be in the car a lot lately. We drive to Jackson a lot. This picture of me is from one of my rides to Jackson. I drank the rest of Mommy's tea. I was a very thirsty girl. Daddy got a glider for Mommy. I like it a lot. I like to rest my head on the ottoman and sway. Mommy and Daddy have both rocked me in it. I like it. We should have had one of these a long time ago! I am going to go watch Veggie Tales now. - Imogene
