"Pull hur!"

I pulled Imogen's hair today. I was on the floor playing and she leaned over to kiss on me and I pulled her hair. She told Mommy "Hur! Pull hur!" and she was pointing at me! Mommy told her not to get her hair so close if she didn't want it pulled. I was just trying to hold onto her to keep her close to me. I love my sister and her hair! I'm going to go now! I need a nap! - Aidan

Imogene, Potty Queen

Last week, I told Imogene that I needed to change Aidan's diaper because he peed. Imogene started yelling, "Go! Pee! Go pee! Gooo peee!!!" So, like a good Daddy, Adam took Imogene to the bathroom (she had already run to the bathroom door) and held her over the toilet so she could "go pee." She did not pee that night. It did make us start thinking about getting her a potty, though.
So, Monday we took Imogene (and Aidan) to Babies 'R' Us to get a potty. I knew what I did not want in a potty for her (no siging toilets or character toilets). I picked out three potties for Imogene to choose from. Goldilocks sat on each potty and jumped up and down a little. I guess she was testing out the traction on the bottom of the potty. She sat on the Boon potty bench. She didn't like it. She sat on the Summer 3 in 1 potty. She got up, closed the lid, and climbed on top of it to play with things on the shelves. She sat on the Baby Bjorn potty. Ahhh... just right. The Baby Bjorn it was. Then to choose a color. Luckily they only carry 2 colors at this particular Babies 'R' Us: hot pink or white. As you can see, the diva chose pink. I placed her potty in our buggy. She just had to sit in the back of the buggy with it. She sat on the potty in the back of the buggy through the store. We got to the register and she helped pay. She told the lady at the counter "pee!" She was very excited.
When we left the store, she and I had a very serious conversation. I said, "Imogene, your new potty is for you to pee in. You put pee and poo in your potty." Imogene said, "Pee? Poo?" I told her, "Yes. This potty is for pee and poo." She said, "Pee!"
The next morning (Tuesday) I sat the potty in her bathroom. I took her diaper off and let her sit on her potty. I told her she could pee in her potty. She didn't pee, but she had a really good time sitting there on her pink potty. I asked if she was done and she said "Done!" and got up. A couple hours later, I took her back to try again. She sat on her potty for a few minutes. I asked her if she was done, she said, "No!" She tried to get a magazine, I took it away from her. A couple minutes later, I asked again, "Imogene, are you done?" She said, "No!" I asked, "Are you going to pee in your potty?" She said, "No!" I waited a couple more minutes. I asked again, "Imogene, are you done?" She said, "No!" I asked, "Are you going to pee in your potty?" She said, "No!" I said, "Well, if you aren't going to pee on your potty, what are you doing?" She said, "Poo!" And she pooed. That will teach me to argue with a toddler. She was very proud of her poo. I clapped and cheered for her. Daddy came in and told her "Good job!" (I think he was grossed out about it.) She waved and yelled "bye!" as we flushed it down the toilet. After washing her hands and getting pants back on, she enjoyed her two jelly beans she got as a reward.
Today, I take her to the potty this morning. She just sits there and after a minute or so, says she is "done!" The potty was empty. A couple hours later, we return to the potty. She sits there for a few minutes and the announces she is "done!" Once again, empty potty. We eat lunch. She then says very suddenly, "Poo!" I rush her to the bathroom, but it is too late, she has already pooed. I sit her on the potty anyway. After a couple minutes I ask if she is done, she says, "No!" Then, she peed in her potty. She was very proud of that. She wished her pee goodbye and we flushed it. She then enjoyed her jelly bean reward. All in all, she has done very well these past couple days. I really didn't expect her to actually go in her potty. I thought, we'll get her a potty and let her get used to it for a while. I thought that maybe she'd be ready to actually go in the potty by this summer. I doubt that she will be fully potty trained for a while, but we are off to a very good (and interesting) start! - Lindsey

Sleeping in Swings

Aidan continues to enjoy napping in his swing. I guess Imogene got jealous of his napping situation. Last week, she insisted on being put in her old baby swing. I put her in there, thinking it wouldn't take her long to realize it wasn't as fun as she anticipated. Within a matter of minutes, she was asleep. She slept like this for a little over an hour. - Lindsey

Conversations with The Moose

Imogene is crying like it is the end of the world. She climbs up in Mommy's lap.
Mommy: What is wrong, Imogene?
Imogene: (continues crying)
Mommy: Did you hurt yourself?
Imogene: Noooo!
Mommy: Do you need to go outside?
Imogene: Noooo!
Mommy: Did a hippo steal your shoes?
Imogene: Noooo!
Mommy: Did an aliigator eat your sippy cup?
Imogene: Noooo!
Mommy: Did your dolly run away?
Imogene: Noooo!
Mommy: Well, then what is wrong?
Imogene: Dink! (Her sippy cup was empty.)

Imogene runs into the kitchen like a woman on a mission.
Mommy: Do you need something?
Imogene: Jes!
Mommy: Well, what do you need, girl?
Imogene: (babbles)
Mommy: Well, I don't know what you are saying. You aren't using real words. Would you like a banana?
Imogene: No. Cheese!!!

Semi-Pro Roller

I am now a rolling pro! I can roll from my back to my tummy and from my tummy to my back! I have realized this new talent I have moves me places! I love rolling now! I have also discovered that I have feet. I really like my feet. I am a little chubby, so it is difficult for me to get them to my mouth. I still really like to eat squash. I had sweet potatoes for the first time yesterday and I really like them, too. I definately like vegetables the most! Mommy says I get to start eating green vegetables this week. I'm not too sure what green vegetables are, but she makes it sound so exciting! I love to hug on soft things. I love holding onto soft blanket, lovies, and stuffed animals. I like holding them and rubbing them on my face. My sister, Imogene, is fun to play with. She can be a little aggressive in her affection sometimes. She tries to share her food with me. She really likes to take my paci away and then give it back. The only time I get really upset, is when she takes my lovie away and doesn't give it back. She takes my soft lovies away and gives me a block or a car to play with. I would really rather play with my soft lovie. I still like my swing, but I spend a lot less time there now. I like to play in the floor a lot now. I like to roll and wiggle. You should have seen Imogene swinging in her swing the other day! It was so funny! I also like baths! I kick my legs and splash and splash! I got some bath toys for Christmas, and I love playing with them! Imogene like to play with my bath toys, too! I share my toys with her. She shares her toys with me! Mommy says I am getting very big. I still feel little. I really want to figure out how to run around like Imogene. I need to go take my morning nap, now! - Aidan

Such A Pretty Girl

I am learning more and more new words. Mommy likes me to use my real words. I sometimes still make up words and just babble. I like going outside. When I am outside I can point out all the "tees" (trees) and "flow" (rhymes with cow; flower). I still like Aidan. He is getting much more playful with me and I think he is a lot more fun now. I still can't say his name, so I call him "bo-wee" (boy). He moves around a lot now. He likes to play with my "hur" (hair). I can count to three. Mommy says "One" then I say "tooo, threeee!" I get confused with "up" and "down." I call up and down both "down." Mommy will tell me when it is really "up." I really like taking "baats" (baths). A couple days ago, Mommy told me Aidan needed a clean diaper because he peed. I started yelling "Go! Pee! Go, pee! Pee!" I took off running for the bathroom. Daddy put me up on the big potty, but once I got up there, I didn't know what to do. Mommy thought it was funny! I need to go eat my "ba-na" (banana) now! - Imogene

I rolled over!!!

I rolled over today for the first time. I have been working on it for a while and I finally did it! We were in Sunday school. Imogene was with Mrs. Jean in her Sunday School class and I was hanging out in Mr. Jerry's class with Mommy and Daddy. I was laying on my tummy in the floor playing with the John Deer rattle Cousin Melissa gave me. I got very excited playing with my toy and I rolled over! I rolled from my tummy to my back! Mommy said, "Aidan, you rolled over!" She clapped for me and gave me a big kiss. Daddy had told Mr. Jerry before class that I have been trying to roll over, but couldn't quite get it. Well, Daddy, I got it! Believe me, it is hard to roll over when you've got a milk belly like I've got! I'm going to go take a nap now, rolling over is hard work. - Aidan

Conversations with Imogene

Conversation #1: Imogene is screaming at the top of her lungs, running from a red heart balloon with the words "Happy Valentine's Day!" across its middle.
Mommy: Imogene, don't you like your pretty balloon Daddy gave you for Valentine's Day?
Imogene: No!
Mommy: Daddy got you that balloon because he knows you like balloons! It was so nice of Daddy to get you your very own balloon.
Imogene: No!
Mommy: Well, if you don't like balloons for Valentine's Day, what would you like?
Imogene: Flow. (Rhymed with cow, which is her word for what everyone else calls 'flowers.')

Conversation #2: Imogene is walking around the living room slowly eating a banana. Lucas (our dog) was walking around behind her, hoping to steal a bite. Imogene trips on a toy in the floor, throwing the banana across the room. She looks up and realizes that Lucas is heading toward her banana.
Imogene: No! No, dawg!!

My Room Is Ready For Me!

I slept in my room for the first time the other day! I took a nap in my crib. My room was Imogene's room, but Granny bought me my own crib and Imogene kept her old crib, it just moved to her new room with her! Daddy got everything back together in my room. I like it. Daddy is having a changing table/ bookcase made for my new room, too! I have the same bedding Imogene had when she was in the nursery. I like it. I like to look at the lions! I'm going to go drink some pear juice, now! - Aidan

Aidan's Baptism

I am so sorry I am so late getting photos of Aidan's baptism up. I am also sorry I have not updated in a while. Here are pictures of Aidan's baptism. He was baptized on Sunday, February 3 here at our church. I had a lot of fun planning for the baptism. We ordered flowers for the service (blue daisies, white spider mums, and white carnations) and they looked beautiful with the sweet decorative glass plaque his Granny got him. I also had to get a bowl for the water (the church didn't have one) and I put white rose petals in it for the baptism. Aidan's Mimaw and Papaw went with us and bought Aidan's baptism outfit. It was a very cute, classic white one-piece pant suit. We also got him some little white shoes. I couldn't decide on getting shoes or just fluffly socks for him. It seemed silly either way. Marshall Daigre baptized Aidan for us so Adam could participate in the baptism as a father, not as a pastor. We really enjoyed having the Daigre's come over for that. Aidan did very well during the baptism. He did get a little bit fussy, but not because of the water or the service. He just wanted to eat there at the end. We had a really good time with out family and friends celebrating Aidan becoming part of the Church! My family and the Daigres went to eat after the baptism at Old Venice. They have one in Starkville. We ate at the one in Jackson after Imogene's baptism, so Adam wanted to go to Old Venice for sentimental reasons. We all ate very well! Thank you Poppa! Thank you to everyone who made the trip to celebrate with us. - Lindsey

Sunday Morning Breakfast

I ate rice cereal and a piece of pineapple for breakfast on Sunday morning. Mommy put my pineapple in the food pacifier so I couldn't get choked. I am up to 5 food now! I have had rice cereal, bananas, pears, pineapple, and oatmeal. My favorite, so far, is oatmeal! All this talk about food is making me hungry! - Aidan
I ate fruit with dip for breakfast on Sunday morning. I had a strawberry and some pineapple. Mommy gave me Cool Whip to dip my fruit in. I ate more dip than I did fruit! I love to dip my food. Yesterday, at lunch, I was dipping a chip in Daddy's sandwich. Last night at dinner, I was dipping my peas in rice. I really enjoy dipping my food! I'm going to go read a book now! - Imogene

Sunday Morning Sleeping

We took over Mommy & Daddy's bed on Sunday morning. We were both sleepy-heads! Mommy thought we were so cute sleeping next to each other. We get along most of the time. We need to go now! We are playing with bibs! - Imogene & Aidan

Do you like my outfit?

Do you like the outfit I am wearing in these pictures? I had a little accident, so Mommy took my pants off and didn't make me put anymore on! Boy was that fun! I love running around in my diaper. I also like running around completely naked. I don't get to do that much anymore. Daddy gets nervous when I run around completely naked because I have had a couple accidents in the floor. I like my bib. I like to put bibs on throughout the day. I find the bib I want to wear, then I take it to Mommy. She puts it on me. Then when I am ready to take it off, I let Mommy know, and she takes it off for me. I'm going to go play now! - Imogene

Learning To Eat With A Spoon- Photos

For everyone that prefers photos to video, here are some pictures of me learning to eat with my spoon. I was trying to eat mashed potatoes with a spoon. Mommy showed me how to scoop. I had a little trouble with the scooping. It is easy when your bowl is full, but when you have more bowl than potatoes, it gets harder. I gave up with the spoon and tried with my hands. But it is really hard to pick up mashed potatoes with your fingers. So, I turned my bowl up and started licking my bowl! I really enjoyed my mashed potatoes! - Imogene
