On Easter morning, I got up and Mommy put my Easter dress on me. It was yellow cotton with white polka dots. Daddy picked it out for me. It was cold, but I really didn't want to wear a sweater. Mommy made me put on my navy blue cardigan. Mommy got Aidan dressed. He matched me! He wore some khaki pants, a baby blue polo shirt, and a yellow argyle sweater vest. He looked very handsome! Oh, and he wore an Easter hat! Mommy thought he looked cute. I wanted his hat. I settled on a white headband. Mommy helped me put it on, but the headband was entirely my idea!
We went to church. We didn't have Sunday School, and that confused me a little bit. I saw my friends. They looked so nice in their Easter outfits. Daddy preached. He made bags for all the kids at church! I was thrilled to get my bag! It had 3 eggs in it. 2 eggs had candy in them, Daddy said those two eggs represented the days Jesus was in the tomb. The third egg was empty because he rose on the third day and the tomb was empty! It also had crayons and coloring pages in it! That was my favorite part. My friend went straight for the candy, I went straight for the crayons! Man, do I love to color!!!
After church, Mommy made us stop to take pictures. I did not want my picture taken. I wanted to use all the Kleenex on the pews to blow my nose over and over. I wanted to sing into the microphone. I wanted to dance on the stage. I did not want to sit next to my family and have a picture made! Mommy made me do it anyway! Then she let me sing and dance.
When we came home, Mommy and Daddy gave us Easter baskets! Boy were we excited! She brought out our baskets! I had a lot of fun going through both of them. I got bunny straws, cups, panties, coloring book, crayons, candy, and a play microphone in mine! Aidan got a Little People Noah's ark with all sorts of animals and Noah, onesies, pajamas, pacifiers, and a silly chick ball! I liked playing with Aidan's basket. Daddy got a basket full of candy and Mommy got a basket full of candy.
Mommy cooked lunch for us. We ate ham, green beans, carrots, corn, and rolls. I really liked the corn and the ham.
Then we colored Easter eggs. That wasn't very fun. I couldn't do much of the decorating. And when you bite one of those brightly colored eggs, it does not taste like candy! They taste like... eggs! Mommy hid the Easter eggs in the front yard and Aidan and I had an Easter egg hunt! It was so much fun. When all the eggs were found, Aidan and I were tied. I did not like that outcome. He cheated. Daddy helped him. So, I stole the eggs out of Aidan's basket and put them in mine. I won.
I liked Easter a lot. Mommy and Daddy let me eat more candy than I ever get to eat on regular days! I began acting like a terror toward the afternoon with all that sugar in me. But I sure did like my candy! I liked the Peeps and my chocolate bunny! Yummy! I'm going to go see if there is any of the candy left! - Imogene

Too much candy makes Granny and Poppa cranky, too! You look beautiful in your Easter dress.
