What Does A Baby Do?

I sleep a lot still. I am 7 months old and I still love to eat and sleep. I don't sleep as much as I used to, but I nap a lot more than my sister. As you can see, I have almost outgrown my carseat. Mommy says I'll have to get a new one in the next month or two. She says I am less than 5 pounds away from the limit. (My headrest is a special headrest Mommy got me. It is actually a pad that goes under my back down to my butt and it keeps air circulating under me so I don't get too hot in my seat. That seat makes me very sweaty without my special headrest.) I am pretty mobile now. Although, I wish I were more mobile. I am working on being able to get around like my big sister. I get very upset when the big people are eating things I can't have. If Daddy has cake, I want it. If Mommy has noodles, I want them. If Imogene has juice, I want it. They don't always let me have some and it makes me so mad! Last night they were eating popcorn and wouldn't let me have a single bite. Daddy has cornbread, I'm going to go see if he'll give me a bite! - Aidan

New Teeth & New Word

Aidan isn't the only one with new teeth. I am getting my 2 year molars in. They don't make me very happy. I have been more fussy than usual and I keep telling Mommy it is because my "teef hur!" (Teeth hurt.) I have a newfound fascination with Mickey "Mow" (Rhymes with 'cow.') I like to watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. I was watching the other day and learned how to count to 6! Mommy was very surprised with that one. On Mickey Mouse Clubhouse I see "Quack" (Donald Duck or Daisy Duck), "Goof" (Goofy), "Mow" (Mickey Mouse or Minnie Mouse), "Dawg" (Pluto), and "Pete" (Pete). Sometimes when I ask to watch the "Mow," Mommy says it isn't on. Why isn't Mickey Mouse on at 9 PM? Mommy got me a Mickey Mouse coloring book so I can color the "Mow" anytime I want! I also like watching "Bob a ball!" (That would be Bob the Tomato from Veggie Tales.) We have lots of "Bob a La-wee" (Bob and Larry) movies. Daddy says I act like Homer Simpson (thinking of or seeing donuts) when he puts a Veggie Tales on for me. I am getting better about talking. I still have my own language, but Mommy and Daddy won't learn it. Daddy says I have to learn English. So, I am learning! I can make all sorts of animal noises! "Goat" (goats) say "meeee." "Cow" (cows) say "mooo!" "Quack" (ducks) say "quack quack." "Chich" (chickens) say "bawk bawk." Those are just a few! I can also "fuff," "yow," and "teet teet." I turned my toy bucket into a clubhouse yesterday. It was fun to sit in it and play. But then I couldn't get back out. I started yelling "Need hep! Need hep!" And Mommy came and helped me! I also like to climb up onto the arm of the couch and look out the window. Mommy opens it up so I can see. I like to play outside. I "hep" (help) Daddy with the yard work. Daddy got me some sidewalk chalk so I can color on the ground outside! I like that. I also like to pick "flows." (Rhymes with cow. Means flower.) Daddy gets upset with me because I run away from him and go pick flowers. He doesn't like me to run away from him. But he doesn't pick flowers. He just picks weeds. I am going to go take a nap now. Mommy says I have to. - "Mah-gene" (Imogene)

Just The Two Of Us

We are getting along very well these days. The boy can play now. I still really like him. I like to share toys with him. He likes to pull on my hair and my clothes. He grabs anything that gets near him! He is almost as big as I am. My feet are only bigger than his by my toes. People think we are twins now when we go out. Mommy tells them "almost" when they ask if we are twins. Aidan is almost as big as I am. He is shorter than I am, but he is much chubbier! He is fun to play with. But he still takes a lot of naps. I don't like him getting into my things. Mommy says it will only get worse. I don't quite know when that will be, but we might not get along anymore when that time comes. I need to go. I am a busy girl. - Imogene

My First Tooth! And Second!

I got my first tooth last Thursday. It didn't bother me too much coming in. I took shorter naps for a few days because my new tooth wouldn't let me sleep, but I was pretty much a happy boy about it. On Saturday, I got my second tooth. So, now I have two. I have enjoyed my teeth. I like rubbing them on things. I haven't bit Mommy, though. I am very serious when it comes to eating. Dinner time is no time to play with my new teeth! My new teeth are still very small. The picture of me in the red is the day I got my tooth. The picture of me showing off my teeth and me in the yellow are pictures taken just for you this morning. You have to look close to see my little chompers. I am getting bigger every day! I am hungry, so I am going to go eat now! - Aidan

I had to get shots todays.

I had to get my 6 month shots today. Daddy took me this time. He said I was a very big boy! I only cried for a minute, then I was fine. I got one shot in each of my chubby thighs. I slept a lot today. Those shots sure do make me tired! Mommy says I get shots to protect me. I'll just have to take her word for it.
I learned how to say "dada" this week. Mommy tried and tried to get me to say "mama," but I chose "dada." I say it a lot now. I also like to stick out my tongue. Daddy says I get that from Mommy. I'm going to go to bed now! It is late for the babies. - Aidan

Dirt, Blood, & Popsicles

Daddy and I did some yard work this week. I had a lot of fun helping Daddy weed the flower beds. I was mostly interested in the flowers growing in our front yard. I love flowers! I also rode on my tricycle while Daddy worked. Well, I really just sat on my tricycle. I can only peddle it once or twice before I loose my confidence. Aidan didn't help with the yard work because he isn't big like me. I ate a lot of dirt. I rubbed dirt all over myself. I was climbing in and out of Aidan's wagon and I fell and busted up my lip. Mommy gave me a Pop Ice for my busted lip! She gives me popsicles when I get hurt. After I finished my first Pop Ice, I went to the back door and pretended to cry again so she would maybe give me another one. And she did. Although, I think she knew I wasn't really hurt. The black dog in the pictures is our neighbor's dog. He name is Lucy. She is really nice. She visits us often now. I like to play with her. She doesn't try to run away from me like Lucas Joe. I'm going to go kiss on my brother now! - Imogene

Chinese Food & Carousels

These are pictures from Spring Break. After we left the Early Works Museum, we went to eat chinese food at P.F. Changs. (Mommy loves P.F. Changs!) You may wonder where Aidan is in these pictures. Well, he was asleep. He slept right through our carousel ride. He sleeps a lot more than us big kids. Jackson and I had a lot of fun, although I was not a happy girl before I got some food in my belly. I know it might surprise you to know, but I am very cranky when I am hungry. I really liked riding the carousel. Daddy and I rode a Narnian horse! He was a very fancy horse. It was a lot of fun. Daddy tried to get on the horse with me, but the carousel attendant told him he couldn't ride the horse with me. I think he was a little disappointed. He likes to ride carousels, too. When I get big enough to ride alone, Daddy will be able to ride a horsey on the carousel again. Well, I guess he will have to wait until Aidan gets big enough to ride alone. I need to go help Daddy, now. He has the tools out! - Imogene
